Ben E. Johnson Now Joins the Ranks of Male Solo Artist
Ben E. Johnson
Reared in Barrett Station, Crosby, Texas during his early years, Ben was found singing in the church choir where his father was the Senior Pastor and his mother served as Choir Director.
Ben’s original music composition marked the launching of his writing in 1986. He recorded the project “Everybody Ought to Know” with Salt of the Earth (revised), which included his originals “someone Special”, “Be Blessed”, “We’re Striving” and “War”. In 1995, he recorded the project “Keep Love Alive” with the group Forte, which included his originals “Keep Love Alive”, “Brighter Day”, “Right With the Lord”. ‘We’re Safe”, “Praise the Lord”, “Got on Board”, “You” and a remake of ‘Someone Special”.
“My goal is to use my gifts to encourage listeners, and to win souls for the body of Christ. My prayer is that people will not see me but the Christ who lives in me… giving all glory to God.”

En Sound Music Awards Winners Announced
Saturday, August 7 was the Awards Ceremony and everyone was pumped and excited. As if the talents on Friday night wasn't enough, The En Sound Music Awards took it up several notches showcasing more awesome talents to the amazement of everyone in the audience! The En Sound Music Awards did not disappoint when it comes to great acts. Perfomers included Chozen (TX); Still Trill Christian (TX) Hosia Hinds (Barbados); Jack Yates (NV); Monica Lisa Stevenson (GA); and others. Trophies were handed out in 15 Categories (see the winners here). Lisa McClendon and Richie Righteous were the big winners of the night receiving 4 and 3 trophies each. Lisa McClendon was also honored along with Aziz "Zee" Peregrino-Brimah and Bobby "Tre9" Herring of www.dasouth.com who received the Trailblazer award for their contribution to Christian hip hop.Once again worship broke out and the evening was charged with the presence of the Lord.
Sunday August 8 was the celebration of En Sound Entertainment's 10th Anniversary...what can I say? There was such an anointing in the room, it ended up being a Church service with some serious praise and worship. Artists who performed on Sunday included Chiquita Green; Jimmy Lalla; Cora Russell; Timothy; Delra Harris; Janice Peterson and others. God was definitely in the building all three nights of the event.

J. Norris
Music was a great escape from the world around him. His love for singing, hip-hop and rapping provided a release of creativity.
Norris was led to Lord at an early age in the Church of God in Christ. As a teenager in the church, he loved the Lord, but knew that "hip-hop [was] the language of the streets". He wanted to reach his peers by engaging them through music they could relate to. He started writing in order to minister the word through music in 1999, which opened doors for him to travel the country as a member of the hit group, 'XFactor'. The duo released a self titled album in 2004. Norris received rave reviews for his writing which definitely ministered to all those who heard their music.
His style is very relevant to pop culture, but the main focus is on praising God. His music includes high-energy praise tunes that make you want to get up and dance, to mid-tempo songs that can transition you into worship. Although his music is geared toward our youth, it touches the lives of anyone in need of encouragement through a positive message. His passion is to be a voice for a young generation, that would meet them where they are and introduce them to Christ through Hip-Hop music.
Norris J. currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex where he is the devoted husband and father to his wife and three children. He is a deacon and faithful member of New Breed Christian Center in Fort Worth, TX under Pastors Darrell and La'Tonya Blair.
